I absolutely LOVED that Netflix series. Although I've seen many old newsreels about the cheese rolling through my day job, I have never been to witness it in person. I HAVE been to the Olney pancake race though - similarly bonkers - though less risk of physical injury - haha. So pleased you got to brave those cheese loving crowds so I don't have to!
I will get my old skateboarding knee pads out (confession, I have never been on a skateboard and I don't have knee pads)! Lots of weird things for you to investigate down here in Hastings - come for PIRATE DAY, or Jack in the Green! xx
Abby was a champ! There was some sort of confusion with the women’s race, and a false start had a handful of women coming down before the cheese. I don’t know if any of them climbed back up the hill to have another go, but I did feel for the woman who crossed the finish line first only to find out it didn’t count! 🤦♀️

Oh but Jenny, the good news is that while Olney limits participation in the pancake race to residents, ANYONE can take part in the Cheese Roll!
And you have nearly a year to prepare! 😉
